Abbreviated as Qiong, Hainan Province is located
at the southernmost tip of China, facing
Guangdong Province across the Qiongzhou Strait.
Covering an area of 34,000 square kilometers,
the province consist of Hainan Island, Xisha,
Nansha and Zhongsha islands on the South China
Sea, and their surrounding territorial waters.
Established as a province in April 1988, Hinan
has a population of 7.87 million at present
including ethnic groups of Hans, Lis Miaos, Huis
and others. Haikou is the provincial capital. |

The Wuzhi (Five ¨CFinger) Mountains sits in the
center of Hainan Island, the second largest
island of China, and coastal plains and
tablelands make up two-thirds of total area of
the province. A half provincial territory
covered by forest, Hainan is under a tropical
marine monsoon climate, and is a base of
tropical crops and plants in China.
Having fabulous scenery and pleasant climate,
Hainan is nice tropical destination of scenic
tour in China, and famous for sunshine, beaches,
sea water and hot spring. Haikou and Sanya are
major tourist cities of the province. Hainan

Haikou is capital of Hainan Province as well as
a rising international tropical tourist seaside
city. As befitted its reputation as a ¡°Coconut
City¡±, the air of Haikou is filled with the
aroma of coconuts and the smell of the sea.
Kaikou also woos visitors from around the world
with a myriad scenic spots and places of
cultural interest. These include Haikou Park,
Five Lords¡¯ Temple, Hai Rui¡¯s Tomb, Holiday
