Abbreviated as ¡°Lu¡±, Shandong Province is located in the lower reaches of the Yellow River. The present name comes from its location east to Taihang Mountain. During the Spring and Autumn and Warring State Periods, most part of Shangdong belonged to the states of Qi and Lu, so it is also called ¡°Qilu Land¡±. Covering an area of 150,000 square kilometers, the province has a population of more than 90 million people including Hans, Huis, Manchurians,

Mongolians, Zhuangs and other ethnic peoples. Jinan is the capital of Shandong.

The province abounds in tourist resources. Taishan Mountain and Temple, Mansion and Cemetery of Confucius are all on the List of World Heritage of UNESCO. Qingdao, Yantai, Penglai, Weihai are famous seaside resorts.
