4Tianjin

One of China¨s four municipalities directly under jurisdiction the Central Government, Tianjin is called Jin for short. Located in the northeastern part of the Huabei Plain, the city is screened by Yanshan Mountain in the north, bordered by the Bohai Sea in the east and adjacent to Beijing in the northwest, which make it an important gateway to Beijing. With a total area of 11,000 square kilometers, Tianjin has a population of more than 10 million. the inhabitants include the people of Han, Hu, Korea, Manchu, Mongol and other ethnic people.

Tianjin is the biggest industrial and commercial harbour city of north China. Situated in Tanggu District and Haihe River¨s entrance, Tianjin New Harbor is the largest man-made harbor present in China, as well as an international trade seaport, which has maintained trade relations with harbors in over 150 countries and regions.

As one of national famouis historical and cultural city, Tianjin is abundant in scenic spots and historical sites, which connect with scenes and sights in Beijing and Hebei and form a big tourist zone. Major attractions in Tianjin are Tianhou Temple, Ancient Cultural Sreet, Dule Temple, Panshan Scenic Resort, Dagu Fort, Great Wall at Huangya Pass, Yangliuqing, a home to New Year Pictures and Yangcun Amusement Park.
