Is it safe to travel by air in China?

Answer: Yes. The safety issue is strictly monitored China Civil Aviation Administration.

What about airport tax in Hong Kong?
Answer: Currently all the taxes are included in the airfare. That is, 216 RMB fuel surcharge from Hong Kong to mainland China, or 104 RMB fuel surcharge and 90 RMB airport tax from mainland cities to Hong Kong.

What is the airport tax in China?
Answer: In China the airport tax is also called airport construction fee. It is 50 RMB for domestic flight and 90 RMB for international flights. Now, you do not need to pay it at the airport since they are all added into the airfare from September 1st, 2004 and have to be paid while booking air tickets.

What is train travel like in China?
Answer: In fact traveling by train is a fun, interesting and a comfortable way of moving around China. In China, the accommodation on the train is divided into four categories, namely, soft-sleeper, soft-seat, hard-sleeper and hard-seat. Each carriage on train has one washroom at one end and an electric boiler at another. Meals and drinks can be purchased in the restaurant carriage. Normally we just arrange soft-sleepers (four berths in one compartment) for foreign tourists
Although traveling by train appears to be harder than that by air, it does offer you more chances to rub shoulders with all kinds of Chinese people.

In your soft sleeping carriage, are there compartments private for two?
Answer: No, there is not.
In China, the soft-sleeper carriages are divided into separate enclosed compartments. Each compartment has totally four berths, two lower and two upper.

Are there bathroom and/or toilet facilities on the train?
Answer: No, there is no bathroom on the train. But, simple washrooms and toilets can be found at one end of each carriage.

What about the Taxi in China?
Answer: Taxis could be found almost in every city in China and the service is also not bad, especially in big cities like Beijing and Shanghai. Normally the taxi companies have theirs cars painted in uniform color with taxi light carrying on the top. Therefore, it¡¯s easy to recognize. As for the fares vary from city to city and it also depends on what kind of car it is, but they are always clearly marked on the taxi windows.
Most taxi drivers do not understand much English, although those in tourist cities are encouraged to learn and speak some simple English. Non-Chinese speaking visitors are advised to have their destinations written down in Chinese, when take a taxi, they can show the name to the cab driver.

While getting a boarding card, is it possible to ask for a window seat or a seat near to aisle?
Answer: Yes, it is possible. When you are doing procedures to get your boarding card, you can ask them for the window seat or seat near to aisle.
